The main use for Karils is Magic Defence and I believe it is the strongest Magic Defence armor without a Melee Attack negative, which is why you might see it used more for Melee than for Ranged.Karil's: 25% chance of hitting twice with one attack. The second hit will deal half the damage of the first hit. Ahrim's: Ahrim's staff can autocast Ancient Magicks. Also grants a 25% chance of combat spells dealing 30% more damage. Karil's crossbow is also great because you often you don't need to bother with wearing Ava's Accumulator because often the +4 range bonus isn't enough to warrant bring an extra item switch at G.Guardians and Demonics.
